BUYING LUXURY WATCHES
Gotham Trading will only make purchase offers to eligible customers over 18 who can provide valid state or government-issued photo identification.
The estimated offer value is determined by several factors, mainly the watch's condition and market demand. Gotham Trading reserves the right to cancel a purchase offer at any time, and the watch will be shipped back to the owner at our expense. Reasons for refusal may include (but are not limited to) bad condition, misrepresentation, or miscommunications with the seller, the watch was not working, or the watch (any part of it) was not authentic.
Once the customer accepts a final offer price, they must send a copy of their identification and a signed letter stating the intention to sell. When this information is received, a check or wire transfer will be sent in the seller's name.
Change will be given if you decide to trade in your watch and the trade-in value exceeds the total purchase. For example, if someone buys a 30k watch but sends in a watch worth 32k, Gotham Trading will give 2k on top of the watch bought.
OFFER QUOTE/FINAL OFFER DISCLAIMER; TERMS OF SALE:
Gotham Trading will provide an offer quote based on your information, which will be quoted as a range. Our offer range will be from the lowest to the highest value we can determine based on the information and pictures provided. You can expect your Final Offer value to be within this range. While it may be possible to offer you higher than this range, we will never make you a Final Offer lower than the minimum price quoted, unless your watch is in poor condition.
Making an offer quote does not guarantee we will buy your watch. If your watch was misrepresented, we will rescind the offer and ship you back the watch immediately. Once a selling price has been agreed upon and all requested documentation has been received, we will issue a wire transfer or check for that amount and mail it to you. We will inform you by email. A check or wire transfer will be issued on the same day.
If you decide to cancel the sale at that time, inform us immediately. If a check has already been mailed, simply mark the envelope with "return to sender,” and we will ship back the watch when the check is returned. Gotham Trading will consider a sale complete when our bank indicates the check has been cashed.
Trade-ins are not eligible for returns unless the deal has been made. If the deal has been made, we can no longer send it back because we may have moved it by then. That said, we will take the watch we sold you on return.
OFFER EXPIRATION:
All Final Offer quotes are valid for 2 days from the offer's date. If we do not receive a response from the seller within those 2 days, the watch will be shipped back, and the seller will be notified by email. (Gotham Trading usually agrees on a price before things are shipped.)
WATCH INSPECTION DISCLAIMER:
By shipping your watch to Gotham Trading, you consent to having it thoroughly inspected, including opening the watch case. One of our qualified watchmakers will perform all work.
